GMRGM 5th Annual
REALTORSCare® Golf Tournament raises over
$11,000
For the 5th year in a row the
REALTORS® of the Greater Moncton area held their Annual
REALTORSCare® Golf Tournament in support of the Breakfast for
Learning program in the region. Over $11,000 was raised on
this day.
“Although the weather was a little
torrential we had a great turnout of 25 teams. One of the
highlights of our event was the auctioning off of an official Wayne
Gretzky signed Oilers Jersey that went for $800” Peter
Dickson, President
Annually the REALTORS® in the Greater
Moncton area have supported the Breakfast for Learning program for
School District 1 & 2 with this golf tournament and their
Dragon Boat team. Breakfast for Learning, is the leading
national non-profit organization solely dedicated to child
nutrition Programs in Canada. Facts show that when a child is
well-nourished, they perform better in school and this program
works to ensure that students receive the healthy breakfasts,
lunches and snacks they need to succeed.
“The local REALTORS® are
committed to ensuring children have the best opportunity to learn
and a good breakfast is key to achieving this goal. We are
proud to support such an important cause.
It is very important that we recognize
the support our members and the community give our
REALTORSCare® initiatives, without them we would never achieve
this level of success. I also would like to recognize our
dedicated volunteer base who ensured our Golf Tournament was a big
success once again this year.” Peter Dickson,
President

2012 Dragon
Boat Team — Greater Moncton REALTORS® du Grand
Moncton
Once again this year the REALTORS® in the
Greater Moncton area rolled up their sleeves and paddled their
hearts out for the kids in their communities at the Lion’s
Sick Kids Annual Dragon Boat Festival. The members of the
Greater Moncton REALTORS® du Grand Moncton are dedicated to
their annual fundraising causes and never hesitate to support their
communities good works.
This year the Dragon Boat team raised over
$5300 for the Lions Sick Kids Fund and Breakfast for Learning
programs in their communities. For the past few years the
Greater Moncton REALTORS® du Grand Moncton has supported School
District 1&2’s Breakfast for Learning program as their
annual charity. The Dragon Boat Festival is the kick-off to
their annual fundraising drive for this event. Last year the
Greater Moncton REALTORS® du Grand Moncton raised over $18,000
for this important program and hope to beat last year’s
record.
“The reason the REALTORS® support
the Breakfast for Learning programs is because we understand the
importance of supporting learning through a good start to the
day. We are all about healthy development for the children of
our community. The Dragon Boat Festival is a great
opportunity to support two great causes working to meet that
objective.” Says President Peter
Dickson.
Breakfast for Learning , is the leading
national non-profit organization solely dedicated to child
nutrition Programs in Canada. We know that when a child is
well-nourished, they perform better in school and we work to ensure
that students receive the healthy breakfasts, lunches and snacks
they need to succeed.
To quote the program facilitators, "The
support of the Greater Moncton Real Estate Board has helped many of
our schools expand their program, serve a better variety of healthy
foods, and in some cases launch new programs. We are very thankful
for their hard work and ongoing support. A nutritious breakfast
helps our students focus on the important task of learning." Carol

Greater Moncton REALTORS® du Grand Moncton Supports
Canadian Cancer Society
For over 18 years the Moncton area
REALTORS® have been delivering bundles of daffodils for the
Canadian Cancer Society “Daffodil of Hope”
campaign. Once again this year over 30 REALTORS® braved
the late winter storm to hit the streets and deliver over 3600
bundles to local businesses in support of the Canadian Cancer
Society Daffodil Drive. The REALTORS® enjoy participating
in this campaign annually. There is a core group of dedicated
volunteers who support this drive annually and it is always
exciting to see the new volunteers show up and roll up their
sleeves to support.
Jacques LeBlanc, from the Canadian Cancer
Society states “Without the REALTORS® help we would not
get this done. Having 15 to 20 of them waiting for me to open
the door in the morning shows their commitment to the
cause.” He attributes the quick delivery time to the
number of REALTORS® who showed up and worked tirelessly to
deliver the bundles.
The one day event helped raise over $25,000
for the Canadian Cancer Society.
